Keyboard PCB

Keyboard PCBs

Dear valued customer,

Thank you for your interest in our company. Today, I would like to introduce you to the keyboard PCB (Printed Circuit Board), a core component in modern keyboard design and manufacturing. Understanding the composition, types, design considerations, and manufacturing processes of keyboard PCBs will help you choose and evaluate the keyboard products that best meet your needs.

Composition of Keyboard PCBs

The composition of a keyboard PCB can be divided into several parts:

1. Substrate

  • The substrate is the fundamental structure of the PCB.
  • Typically made of FR4 (fiberglass epoxy resin) or aluminum base.
  • FR4 is the most common keyboard PCB substrate material due to its excellent mechanical strength and electrical insulation.
  • It provides stable support, ensuring the circuit board's superior performance and durability.

2. Conductive Layer

  • Usually made of copper foil.
  • Forms the circuit pattern through chemical etching or mechanical processing.
  • Responsible for transmitting electrical signals.
  • Keyboard PCBs typically feature double-sided or multi-layer designs to accommodate more complex circuit needs.

3. Vias

  • Used to connect circuits on different layers.
  • Can be through-holes or blind vias.
  • In keyboard PCBs, vias connect the key switches to the control chip, ensuring smooth signal transmission.

4. Protective Layer
