What tests will we do when PCBA leaves the factory?

Many PCBA boards have fatal defects, such as short service life and unstable use of terminal products. This is due to the inability of PCBA factories to strictly implement reliability testing. What reliability tests does PCBA have?

First, aging test: place the PCBA board whose test function is OK under specific temperature and humidity conditions, and conduct repeated opening and closing, simulating function operation, load operation and other operations. The stability of PCBA board is tested by continuous operation for 24 to 72 hours. Aging test takes a long time, so sample sampling test.

Second, vibration testing. During delivery to customers, many PCBA plates often cause problems due to vibration during transportation, such as parts falling off and welded plates cracking. Through the vibration test, the vibration effect in the transportation process can be effectively simulated in the laboratory, and the hidden dangers in the welding process are gradually exposed. To avoid batch welding and improve the overall delivery output.

Third, surge impact test. During PCBA processing, it can normally work under normal voltage, but transient faults will occur during certain surges. The fatal impact on the whole circuit caused by instantaneous voltage or current impact is not considered, which requires us to conduct a surge impact test before mass production of PCBA.

Fourth, packaging testing, which is often neglected, leads to an interesting problem: we put a lot of effort into perfecting the PCBA board, only to let the PCBA suffer at the final stage of packaging and shipping. The factory will simulate the packaging form of PCBA board for proper drop test.

Of course, PCBA board reliability test is not limited to the above several. We will discuss with the customer to determine the specific reliability test plan according to the actual situation, in order to pursue higher quality manufacturing.
