PCB board debugging steps and methods

For a new PCB template, novices often encounter some difficulties when debugging, especially when the template is large and there are many components, they often have no way to start. What are the steps and methods for PCB debugging?

PCB board debugging steps and methods

1、 First of all, roughly observe whether there are problems on the board, such as cracks, short circuits, open circuits, etc. If necessary, check whether the resistance between the power supply and the ground wire is large enough.

2、 Install modules with independent components. If you are not sure to ensure their normal operation, it is better not to install them all, but install them part by part, so that it is easy to determine the fault range of PCB.

3、 Generally speaking, the power supply part can be installed first to detect the power supply output voltage, and then power on to detect whether the power supply output voltage is normal. During power on, adjustable regulated power supply with current limiting function can be considered.

4、 Preset overcurrent protection current Preset the overcurrent protection current first, then slowly increase the voltage value of the stabilized voltage power supply, and monitor the input current, input voltage and output voltage. If there are no over-current protection problems during the upward adjustment and the output voltage is normal, the power supply is normal.

5、 Install other modules and conduct power on test. Gradually install other modules. After each module is installed, conduct power on test to avoid burning components due to overcurrent due to design errors or component installation errors.
