Influence of Nozzle on SMT Placement Rate
SMT placement rate is very important for PCB companies. It can be said that many people will pay attention to the level of SMT placement rate, because it not only affects the processing cost of the production line, but also affects the operation speed of the workshop.
The suction nozzle is also another important factor affecting the placement rate. There are internal reasons and external reasons.
Today, I will introduce to you the influence of the nozzle on the SMT placement rate!

Internal reasons:
On the one hand, the internal reason is insufficient vacuum negative pressure. A mechanical valve on the mounting head automatically switches from blowing to true suction, creating a certain negative pressure before removing the part from the nozzle. After absorbing the parts, when the detection value of the negative pressure sensor is within a certain range, the machine is normal, otherwise, the suction is not good.
In general, the negative pressure at the suction nozzle from the pickup position to the installation position should be at least 400mmhg. When installing large equipment, the negative pressure should be greater than 70mmhg. Therefore, the filter in the vacuum pump should be cleaned regularly to ensure sufficient negative pressure; at the same time, the working state of the negative pressure detection sensor should be checked regularly.
On the other hand, the filter on the mounting head and the filter on the suction nozzle turn black due to contamination and clogging of the surrounding environment or impure air source. Therefore, the filter should be replaced regularly. In general, the filter on the suction nozzle should be replaced at least every two weeks, and the filter on the installation head should be replaced at least every six months to ensure smooth airflow.
External reasons:
On the one hand, the external cause is the pressure relief of the air source circuit, such as the aging and rupture of the rubber air pipe, the aging and wear of the seal, and the wear of the suction nozzle after long-term use.
On the other hand, the suction nozzles are blocked due to dust in the adhesive or the external environment, especially the large amount of waste generated after cutting parts wrapped in woven paper.

Therefore, the cleanliness of the nozzle should be checked daily and the removal of the nozzle should be monitored at any time. Clean or replace blocked or defective nozzles promptly to ensure they are in good condition. At the same time, when installing the nozzle, make sure that it is installed correctly and firmly, otherwise it will damage the nozzle or equipment.
Hope it can give you some reference!
